You overlook the whole southern tip of the island with two bays on both sides with their crystal clear water which is so beautiful!
The John Suwan viewpoint is located in the southern tip of Koh Tao island. The road towards the parking lot is decent and you will pass some other nice beaches too relax, like Freedom beach.
Our experience at John Suwan viewpoint
After a 15 – 20 minute hike you will reach the summit. It’s a small hike and the trek is pretty easy. If you want to avoid the the heat and humidity, you should go as early as possible! Overlooking Chalok Baan Kao Bay and Shark Bay, John Suwan viewpoint is without a doubt one of the best viewpoints of the southern Thai islands!

The entrance fee for John Suwan viewpoint is 50 Baht per person. Definitely worth it if you compare it to the other Koh Tao viewpoints!
Deisha view is a Reggea bar and Jungle hostel where you can relax and take in the view with a beer or juice. Nestled in the hillside jungle you will have panoramic views overlooking Chalok Bay and Sairee Beach.
How to find Deisha viewpoint
Deisha viewpoint is situated close to Sai Nuan Beach main road. There are signs pointing to Deisha Bar from the road. From the signboard, you have to walk 125 stairs to get to the viewpoint, but don’t let this be a reason to not visit. Because it is so worth it!!
Our experience at Deisha viewpoint
Deisha View offers a variety of drinks from beers and wine to signature cocktails, fruit shakes and fresh coffee! The pool table and table tennis / ping pong table are free to use all day long. There is also a roof terrace available where you can relax on beanbags. There is no entrance fee for this viewpoint, but it would be appreciated if you buy a drink or some food here!
Koh Nang Yuan viewpoint
Koh Nang Yuan viewpoint is the most famous and popular viewpoint of Koh Tao. You might have even seen it when you searched for Koh Tao in Google. But, Koh Nang Yuan is not located on Koh Tao, it’s a small island right off the coast of Tao. You can only get to Koh Nang Yuan with a taxiboat from Sairee beach. It is the beautiful west coast viewpoint of Koh Tao, but except visiting the viewpoint, there are way more things to do on Koh Nang Yuan island than only visiting the viewpoint!
Via a taxi boat you can reach Koh Nang Yuan island. The hike up to the viewpoint takes around 15 minutes. If you want to avoid the crowds and heat, you have to go early!
Our experience at Koh Nang Yuan viewpoint
The view on the three small islands is beautiful! The climb is easy, you can even do it on flip flops! But don’t only go to Koh Nang Yuan for the viewpoint, because there is way more to do! It is also one of the best Koh Tao snorkeling spots, and it is the perfect day trip from Koh Tao, Koh Phanganor Koh Samui!
Entrance fee Koh Nang Yuan viewpoint
The entrance fee to the island is 100 Baht per person. You can spend the day chilling at this paradise island and do other activities!
Love Koh Tao viewpoint
This viewpoint is located on the east coast of Koh Tao and is close to the entrance of Tanote Bay. It is a great place to watch the sunrise, but unfortunately (and understandable), the viewpoint isn’t opened yet at that time. You can’t miss this viewpoint with netted beds overhanging a cliff where you can relax and overlook Tanote Bay.
How to find Love Koh Tao viewpoint
Love Koh Tao viewpoint is located in the middle of the island and is only a 15 minute drive from Sairee beach. You can combine this spot with a visit to Tanote Bay.
Our experience at Love Koh Tao viewpoint
This viewpoint is a cute bar with an amazing view on Tanote Bay. They decorated it very nice and even have netted beds overhanging the cliff from where you can sip on your drink and take in the views. There’s not much to do except that, but it is the perfect stop when you’re exploring the island and pass this viewpoint anyway. The opening times are from 8AM – 12AM, so keep this in mind when you’re planning to visit this viewpoint!
Entrance fee Love Koh Tao viewpoint
The entrance fee for Love Koh Tao viewpoint is 20 Baht per person to take photos. Alternatively you can buy something to eat or drink, then the entry fee won’t be charged.
High Bar viewpoint
Although this might not be one of the official Koh Tao viewpoints, it does have a super nice view and is a really relaxing spot to spend your afternoon watching the sunset behind the mountain. The vibes are super chill with reggae music and delicious drinks.
How to find High Bar viewpoint
If you drive on the road to John Suwan Viewpoint you will pass the road towards High Bar. There are signs pointing to High Bar, so if you follow the steep road you will get to the parking lot. There you have to walk some steps before you enter the Bar.
Our experience at High Bar viewpoint
As the name already suggests, you are high on a cliff haha! The views on the bay are stunning. In combination with the super chill vibe, reggae music and a beautiful view you will be in ‘high times’ at the High Bar. You can order a fruit juice or a beer and have a relaxing afternoon. There is no entrance fee, but the staff will expect you to order something at the bar.
Facing west, Sunset viewpoint overlooks the popular Sairee Beach. As the name suggests, this is one of the best Koh Tao viewpoints to watch the sunset with a beer or coconut. But you can also visit this viewpoint earlier on the day. There is a big chance you will have the place than for yourself. While with sunset you have to share it with other people.
How to find Sunset viewpoint
Located in the northern end of the island and tucked away high in the hills, Sunset Viewpoint Koh Tao offers incredible views. You have to go a bit off road to reach this viewpoint and the road becomes more and more steep. Look out for the sign on the left side of the road, there you have to turn lef. This is the same road you have to take to get to Mango viewpoint, you just have to drive a bit further for Mango viewpoint.
Our experience at Sunset viewpoint
We love watching sunset and the panoramic views at this viewpoint makes it the perfect opportunity for some awesome photos. Have a drink or chill in the hammocks while enjoying the view.
Entrance fee Sunset viewpoint
There is not an official entrance fee for this viewpoint but you will be informed to buy at least one drink per person.
Mango viewpoint is a very popular Koh Tao viewpoint, and there is a reason for it! The incredible panoramic view overlooking the western coastline of Koh Tao and the beautiful Sairee beach, including the relaxing and secluded vibes, are worth paying for.
How to find Mango viewpoint
Mango Viewpoint Koh Tao is only reachable if you go off road. The steep hill is something you have to conquer before you arrive at Mango viewpoint. So make sure that you feel comfortable on your scooter because you have to make your way down as well. And after sunset is might be a bit darker, so just be careful driving your scooter to this viewpoint! It is the same road you have to take to get to Sunset viewpoint, so you might even want to combine these two!
Our experience at Mango viewpoint
We enjoyed the small restaurant and juice bar are located at this viewpoint. You can make it yourself comfortable on the large cushions while taking in the views with a drink.
Entrance fee Mango viewpoint
The entrance fee is 100 Baht per person and excludes drinks.
Koh Tao weather
The climate on Koh Tao is hot and humid for most of the year. The rainiest months are October, November and December, so avoid these months. The best moment to come to the Koh Tao is from January to April but the island is also enjoyable during the months of March until August. At this time of the year Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao have the best weather of all Thai islands.
