How to get to Freedom Beach Koh Tao
Freedom beach Koh Tao is located on the southern tip of the island. The road towards the carpark is well maintained and also gives access to Taa Toh Beach and John Suwan viewpoint. Freedom Beach is a scenic place with crystal clear water. The sand is super white and soft and because of the secluded location it gives the feeling of a private beach. Because there are many trees scattered along the beach, there is enough shade. And if you want to have lunch or a little snack, there is a restaurant where you can order food. There is a shallow coral reef right in front of Freedom Beach Koh Tao. From here you can see Buddha Rock (Hin Taa Toh) standing out on the cape. If you swim around the cape, schools of fish can often be found due to the constant water movement there. This makes Freedom Beach one of the best Koh Tao snorkeling spots.
Things to do on Freedom Beach Koh Tao
Apart from relaxing and sunbathing, there are some activities to do on and around Freedom Beach! If you want to explore the underwater world, Freedom Beach is one of the best spots for snorkelling on Koh Tao island!
One thing you have to do when you’re at Freedom Beach is checking out the amazing mountaintop John Suwan viewpoint. This is one of the best viewpoints on Koh Tao and can be reached from the same car park. After a 15 minute hike you will reach the viewpoint which provides an amazing view over the bay. You can also visit the nearby beach called Taa Koh Yai by using the concrete walkway along the coast. With low tide you can even walk all the way to Chalok Baan Kao Bay!
Koh Tao weather
The climate on Koh Tao is hot and humid for most of the year. The rainiest months are October, November and December, so avoid these months. The best moment to come to the Koh Tao is from January to April but the island is also enjoyable during the months of March until August. At this time of the year Koh Samui, Koh Phangan and Koh Tao have the best weather of all Thai islands.

Simple Life Cliff View Resort Koh Tao

The amenities available in the rooms include air conditioning, refrigerator, TV, safe, hot shower, tea and coffee making facilities, free WiFi Internet and a private balcony or terrace from where you can enjoy views of the pool and mountains. Some of the rooms also have a kitchenette with a microwave. The outdoor pool with sun loungers makes it perfect for a lazy afternoon. We stayed for a few days at the Ozo and it was a great budget deal!
