How to get to Silver beach Koh Samui

To get to Silver beach Koh Samui can be a bit misleading because it looks like you’re entering a beach resort. But after you’ve parked your scooter on the car park you actually have to walk through the resort to reach the beach and restaurant. The beach also goes by the name Crystal bay, and the crystal clear water of the sea makes sense where this name comes from.

You can combine a visit to Silver beach together with other things to visit in Koh Samui like Overlap viewpoint. The best way to get around the island is by renting a motorbike for around 200baht per day. You can also go by taxi or Songtaew, but of course you are way more flexible to go with a scooter.

What to expect at Silver beach

Located on the South East coast of Koh Samui, this beautiful beach is hidden in a bay, but still very easy to access. Only one restaurant and a resort can be found at the bay which gives it a very intimate feeling. The beach is clean and offers natural shade through the trees. There is a restaurant where you can order food and drinks, or just sit down and relax in the shade. There are some rocks scattered through the waters of Silver Beach but it’s not directly necessary to wear water shoes because the sand around is super soft. Silver beach is actually one of the best beaches in Koh Samui with the softest sand!

Close to Silver beach there is plenty of stuff to do. You can go to Overlap stone viewpoint or visit Hin Ta and Hin Yai rocks. If Silver beach isn’t what you were looking for, there are many more beaches in Koh Samui that might suit you. You can check out Lamai beach which is located more on the touristic side of the island, or head to the areas Chaweng where you can find Bophut beach and Chaweng beach.

If you’re into more quiet beaches you better can go to Lipa Noi beach in the South West or Maenam beach more in the North of Koh Samui.

Koh Samui weather

If you are planning to visit Koh Samui, of course you want to go in the best months with the driest days. The monsoon usually lasts from October through December with November as the wettest month. This depends on what you are looking for and what your budget is considering the Samui hotels or beach resort you can choose. If you’re looking for entertainment and nightlife you have to stay around the Chaweng area.
