Palais Faraj is located on a hilltop overlooking the Old Medina of Fes. This restored 19th-century former palace is a true hidden gem. The beautifully detailed interior is a combination of Moorish crafts with fine cedar woodcarving, tilework, marble and stained glass details. If you want to be spoiled while staying a stone’s throw away from the Medina in Fes, Palais Faraj has all the luxury and service you need. In this blog post you will read our experience and hotel review about Palais Faraj. We also made a promotional video which you can watch below. This was one of the collaborations we did in Morocco, read in this blog post how we land collaborations like these.
Feeling like a king a queen in Palais Faraj
As soon as you arrive at Palais Faraj you’ll be treated like a king and queen in their Palace. The service and hospitality at Palais Faraj are outstanding. Very professional and attentive staff will make your stay memorable.
The 25 suits make you feel as if you’re in a Moroccan fairytale. Each one of the suites is designed with amazing art and supplied with the latest luxury facilities. A beautiful balance between the interior design of architect Jean-Baptiste Barian and the elegance of arches, stucco lanes, marble floors and many details.
The hotel also has a Hammam and Spa, a swimming pool and two restaurants with the best view in Fes. At L’Amandier restaurant you’ll find gourmet Moroccan cuisine which is absolutely finger licking good and will satisfy all your taste buds. The other restaurant, La Terasse, serves Western and Asian food. You’ll find it hard to leave this beautiful panoramic view of the city.
The best location of Fes
The location of Palais Faraj could not be better. Located on a hilltop with amazing views over the Old Medina, this place will give you, especially with sunrise, a wonderful feeling. The golden morning glow is something magical to behold in combination with the Call to Prayer.
The Medina is easily reachable by foot. If you’re walking outside the Palais you’re standing on the outskirts of the ancient town. Just around the corner of Palais Faraj you will find the entrance gate to the 9000 small streets of the labyrinth Medina. The hotel can organize many different customized excursions and activities in the city and the surrounding region. For example, a guided visit to the Fez Medina, trips to the Middle Atlas or the Roman ruins of Volubilis. They also offer exclusive and private transfer services. Ask for the many possibilities beforehand, such as pick-up or drop-off at the airport, the railway station or major cities like Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier or Marrakesh.
From the moment we entered Palais Faraj until we said goodbye, we felt very welcome and pampered. It was amazing to see all the beautiful details of the Palais and their library is a must visit. The staff is incredibly professional and will make you feel like their king and queen during your stay. It is Moroccan hospitality to the max. We loved their delicious and varied breakfast with a beautiful view over the medina. The two different restaurants prepare the most amazing dinner and their Spa will give you the perfect relaxation after a day of strolling through the old medina. The best hotel to stay if you are in Fes if you ask us!
