How to get to Campuhan Ridgewalk

If you’re going to Campuhan Ridgewalk for the first time, it might be a bit of a challenge to find the trail. There are also two entrances, the north and the south side. Close to the centre of Ubud you’ll enter through the south side of Campuhan Ridgewalk. You can easily see the location on Google Maps, but you still have to search a bit before you find the exact path. If you spot the ‘IBAH luxury villas and spa’ sign along the main road, you will see a small sign below saying “Going to the Hill”. If you turn straight into there you will find the parking at the end of the road. There is also a beautiful old tree near the carpark and other signs pointing out the right way, so you can’t miss it 🙂

Follow the signs down the stairs and you will quickly be immersed in the jungle of Ubud. First you’ll walk along a beautiful old Hindu temple before you make your way up the stairs to the Campuhan Ridgewalk.

What to expect at Campuhan Ridgewalk

The Campuhan Ridgewalk is the ultimate escape from the hustle and bustle of Ubud. Despite you need transport for almost all the activities you want to do around Ubud, you can simply walk to this trail from the center. The Campuhan Ridgewalk definitely showcases the natural side of Ubud and is a popular morning or evening workout spot for the locals.

Because there is almost no shadow along the trail, we would recommend doing the Campuhan Ridgewalk in the early morning or afternoon. The complete walk is around 4 kilometers if you do it out and back. It’s not a strenuous hike and doable for every age, therefore it’s a perfect and enjoyable family-friendly walk. Campuhan Ridgewalk is also a very popular place to walk the dog. And because it’s so safe without any traffic around, you can easily hike with your dog off leash.

There is a certain spot during the walk that has become super famous showing its winding pathway with palm trees along the side. What to prepare

It is advisable to wear comfy shoes. You don’t need specific hiking gear as it’s not a too strenuous hike. There are even people that walk along the Campuhan Ridgewalk barefoot!

Also important to bring enough water with you. At the end of the trail are some restaurants and small shops where you can buy some drinks or order food with a stunning view over the ricefields.
